Volunteer with other South Jersey Professionals!
Each June, communities around the world come together to harness the volunteer spirit and improve the conditions in which they live. This year, United Way of Gloucester County & the Gloucester County Chamber of Commerce partner to organize the Day of Action!
MORNING ACTION PROJECTS
7:30am - 8:30am: Check In, Networking & Breakfast at Girl Scouts Camp Sacajawea8:30am: Off to Project Locations
9:00am: Projects Begin!
Hundreds of girls participate in summer programming with Girl Scouts of Central & Southern NJ. We need help building program kits, compiling materials, and getting supplies ready to serve girls. Whether a girl is interested in outdoors, entrepreneurship, life skills, or science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM), she can explore her interests and build her skills with Girl Scouts. These kits will contribute to her Girl Scout leadership experience and help her try new things to discover new interests and skills. You are invited to join thousands people and organizations around the world to LIVE UNITED and take action to address a variety of challenges by volunteering to improve the building blocks for a good quality of life – education, financial stability, and health.
Volunteers Needed: 5-10
Project Length: 3 Hours
Volunteer Requirements: Comfortable Shoes
Girl Scouts of Central and Southern New Jersey’s Camp Sacajawea | Newfield
Girl Scouts of Central & Southern NJ is requesting assistance in beautifying/updating Camp Sacajawea by painting one cabin, the infirmary, and the pavilion.
Volunteers Needed: 5-10
Project Length: 3 Hours
Volunteer Requirements: Wear Sunblock, Comfortable Shoes and Bugspray.
Volunteers are asked to refresh the paint on two fence areas that are used for therapeutic riding lessons for special needs riders. Box lunch will be provided.
Volunteers Needed: 10-12 (must be over the age of 18)
Project Length: 6 Hours
Volunteer Requirements: Wear Sunblock, Hat and Closed-Toe Shoes
Volunteers are asked to make trauma kits to support individuals healing from trauma. With your help, Center for Family Services will be able to provide individuals in their care with tools to help them overcome their trauma through providing kits that will guide them complete healing exercises.
*This project will be conducted at the Camp Sacajawea in Newfield.
Volunteers Needed: 10-15
Project Length: 2 Hours
Greater Woodbury Cooperative Ministries | Woodbury
Volunteers are needed to help sort through vegetables for the Bushels of Blessings program. The good vegetables collected by the volunteers will be distributed to clients at the Greater Woodbury Cooperative Ministries' food pantry.
*Volunteers will meet up in Woodbury to carpool (the agency has a van) at 8:45am, so this project is most suitable for individuals that are not able to participate in the networking breakfast in Newfield.Box lunch will be provided.

Volunteer Requirements: Wear Sunblock, Hat and Closed-Toe Shoes
Your Place at the Table | Mullica Hill
Volunteers are needed at Trinity United Methodist Church in Mullica Hill to help with Your Place atthe Table’s food drive called Pack the Crate. Volunteers will help pick up food donations in the neighborhood and sort through the donations.
* Volunteers will meet at Trinity United Church (284 Cedar Road Mullica Hill, NJ) at 8:45am, so this project is most suitable for individuals that are not able to participate in the networking breakfast in Newfield.

Repauno Preschool Daycare | Gibbstown
Do you enjoy spending time with kids? Visit Repauno Preschool Daycare to read to the students and help them with crafting.
* This volunteer opportunity is most suitable for individuals that are not able to participate in the networking lunch in Williamstown.
Volunteers Needed: 4-6
Project Length: 2 Hours
Volunteer Requirements: Bring Favorite Children's Book
Volunteers are needed to help paint the handicap access ramp, paint walls inside the facility, and clear the area for the Children's Garden at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Gloucester County: Paulsboro location. (Paulsboro Club).
* Volunteers will meet at the Paulsboro Club (916 Penn Line Road in Paulsboro) at 10 am, so this project is most suitable for individuals that are not able to participate in the networking breakfast in Newfield. Box lunch will be provided.
Volunteers Needed: 15-20
Project Length: 5-6 Hours
Volunteer Requirements: Bring Basic Gardening Tools and Work Gloves

Boys & Girls Clubs of Gloucester County | Glassboro
Volunteers are needed to paint the hallways and outside areas, assist with gardening and outside clean up, and help reorganize rooms at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Gloucester County: Glassboro Locationlub).
Volunteers Needed: 10
Project Length: 2-3 Hours
Volunteer Requirements: Bring Rakes, Work Gloves and Paint Brushes
Volunteers are needed to assist with outdoor cleanup and beautification of the playground by gardening, laying down mulch, and other general landscaping needs (trash cleanup). It will provide a positive and clean atmosphere for the residents staying at the shelter.
Volunteers Needed: 10

Volunteers are needed to set up the sensory garden at the Arc Gloucester’s Camp Sun N Fun.

Arc Gloucester’s Camp Sun N Fun | Williamstown
Volunteers are needed to weed the pool gardens at the Arc Gloucester’s Camp Sun N Fun.

Do you want to make the community a little cleaner and greener? Consider assisting with park cleanup and weeding at Autumn Pasquale Memorial Park in Clayton. Volunteers are asked to pick up trash along the walking path that surrounds Autumn Pasquale Park and weed the small memorial garden. The path around the park is about a 1-mile space.

- Morning projects will begin at 9:00 am after check-in & breakfast starting at 7:30 am.
- Afternoon projects begin at 1:30 pm after check-in & lunch starting at noon.
- You can schedule to participate for a morning & an afternoon project, or decide to participate for only morning or afternoon.
- Choose your project.
- Whether you decide to choose a project based on agency or because you'll enjoy the type of project activity, thank you for committing your time to support our community!
- Prepare for your project!
- Come dressed in comfortable clothing appropriate for your project. (Closed-toed shoes for outdoor projects).
- Don't for get to bring a hat or sunscreen for outdoor projects. Water will be available at each location for all volunteers.
- Bring your business cards! During check-in, and while enjoying breakfast/lunch, this will be a great time to network with other volunteers and representatives from the agencies you are assisting.
