A panel representing news outlets, business culture, and media studies will discuss how to manage the consumption and production of media impacting your business.

Joe Asumendi | Al Cini and Partners
Joe Asumendi is a Managing Partner of Al Cini and Partners (ACP), responsible for product and service marketing, business development, and maintaining referral partnership and BCAT Certified Practitioner networks. Before joining ACP, Joe served as Mid-Atlantic Director of Operations for a healthcare risk management company specializing in pre-event risk management. Prior to that, Joe was President of Quality Environmental and Safety Standards (QESS), a firm he founded after serving as a Regional Manager for a leading QMS consulting firm, delivering ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and AS 9100 training in 80 countries and 7 languages. Joe has facilitated seminars at national sales meetings, developed and taught courses in conceptual selling, and has created in-house training manuals. He speaks frequently on branding and culture alignment for various organizations.
Lisa Carney | Lisa Carney Retail Agency
Lisa Carney has been in the insurance industry for over 25 years, and has hired very seasoned agents to round out her staff at her agency. For many years, Lisa has specialized in the life and supplemental insurance market. In 2013, Lisa opened her Farmers Insurance office in Woodbury and expanded to the personal lines, commercial, and specialty. She is involved with many organizations, where she has a goal of helping fellow business owners succeed, and the less fortunate in our community thrive. Lisa holds strong beliefs in civil rights, and fights for those that are being marginalized through both word and deed. As a mother of four, grandmother of four, and aunt to a very diverse group of exceptional young people, she will continue to look out for their present and future well-being. Her nickname in the Chamber is “Mom”, and she wears that badge proudly.
Michelle Dawn Mooney | SNJ Today
Michelle Dawn Mooney is the lead anchor for SNJ Today. Michelle has worked in the media industry as a news director, radio news anchor, radio host and national author. Her career spans more than 15 years in broadcast television.
Among her list of charity and community endeavors are the United Way, NJ Food Bank, American Red Cross, The Hero Campaign, and The 200 Club.
She is also a recognized and acclaimed singer songwriter, having worked nationally with several Grammy winning artists.
Paul D’Angelo, Ph.D. | The College of New Jersey
Dr. Paul D'Angelo is an Associate Professor in the Department of Communication Studies at The College of New Jersey. He teaches courses in mass media institutions, mass media theory and effects, political communication, and quantitative research methods. His research focuses on ways that mainstream news and new media portray politicians, particularly during political campaigns, and on how people view the credibility of news media.
Dr. D’Angelo is co-editor of Doing News Framing Analysis: Empirical and Theoretical Perspectives (2010, Routledge) and editor of Doing News Framing Analysis II: Empirical and Theoretical Perspectives (forthcoming, Routledge).
